sorry password. Done this time I promise. It was just so hard not to speak up when seeing God's word manipulated by the WT and regurgitated by its members in such a self-serving and inaccurate way. I am done.

I mean, the way I'm understanding your logic
Sorry, but I only got this far and I burst out laughing.
To what ‘logic’ are you referring to…??
.....lol
i haven't posted on here for quite a while, but i was wondering if someone could do me a huge favor and look up the definition of apostasy for me in the reasoning book.
i'm at my university's library working on a paper and i forgot to bring along the ol' reasoning book.
i tried to find it online but had no success.
Consider yourself showered with love and affection. But not in a creepy or gross way.
See..... this is why i am never that quick to be helpful......
someone (a born-again exjw) on youtube asked me why i was an atheist... i crafted a brief response... it follows:.
1. religious reason: there is no proof for god outside of the bible.
once i dropped my belief in the bible, the judeo-christian concept of god fell apart like a house of cards.
"where do I believe the balance of probabilities lies?"
That is a good question besty, but the problem with people choosing the most probable argument is that that decision will be tainted by the bias opinion of the individual making that choice and what he/she believes or doesn’t believe in.
On a forum like this it doesn’t surprise me that many people who have been deceived by religious dogma and then have worked out it was all a big lie will revert to the complete contrary perspective. These ones will invariably sway toward believing life happened by chance. Others cling to a faith after leaving and would sincerely believe the balance of probabilities would sway towards a creator. Each ones personal perspective would tip the balance of probabilities according to what they believe or don’t believe. But that will still not ascertain what is truth or come close to proving anything with any certainty.
With that being said, if a hot girl like the one in the picture came up to me wearing a tee-shirt like that, I would tend to be swayed to believe anything she said…. and that would be ‘truth’ enough for me……

Maj, you are using a strawman, as far as I can tell....
Lance
It’s no strawman argument I promise. It’s a genuine question. Been wondering about this topic for a long time. I have no answers if I am honest and I am not afraid to admit that. But if I am to believe in something then proof is needed and I find no proof for either argument at present. I just wish to know the truth but I can’t be certain without true facts. My previous questions stand……

There is no proof that life began by god, so why should I believe that…???
But is there no proof that life began by chance either, so why should I believe in that necessarily….??
the forum to know one thing and only one thing about you, what would it be?.
That I am really really good at s**gging…….
yes let's start a list... what things do you feel are better left unsaid on jwn or on any public site maybe even ?.
(1) planned affairs (2) talking about a partner who one day maybe post on site or has a friend who does.
(3) anything to do with abuse of children.
Mmmm…. Interesting thread….
Just to say that I would not be offended if someone requested any sex acts from me, so long as they are not homosexual ones.
Any requests will be open to consideration…
can someone provide the societys view on whether resurrected are not able to marry.
it has been over 10 years since i was active and i at the time if i remember correctly the society said they would not.
if anyone knows whether they flip floped on this either would be great.
The societies comment in the ‘Insight’ volumes about marriage is quite interesting as they pretty much quote just what the bible says but it brings up a point that not many JW’s have considered. This is the small paragraph on the topic:-
Marriage andtheResurrection. A group of Jesus’ opponents who did not believe in the resurrection asked Jesus a question that was calculated to embarrass him. In answering them, he revealed that “those who have been counted worthy of gaining that system of things and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.”—Lu 20:34, 35; Mt 22:30.
That is as much as it says. But the interesting point with that text is that it is not just people who are resurrected that don’t marry. As the text clearly points out “those who have been counted worthy of gaining that system of things” won’t be able to marry either. The question would be, ‘who are these ones’? When you put this point to a JW they will say that this is in reference to the anointed. But if that is the case then the reference to the resurrection also applies to the anointed, else you have two different destinies in the same sentence. So which one is it…???
Now if the destination is heavenly then the question of the resurrection on earth is open ended and no one knows for sure. But if the scripture is referring to the ‘earthly hope’ then as far as I can make out from that biblical text it says that not only is it that the resurrected won’t marry, but also the single people who make it into the new system won’t be able to marry either. That is what that text clearly says. So now following on from Purps point a little, those people who are putting off marrying till the new system might be in for a bit of a surprise when they get there and find out that they “neither marry nor are given in marriage”.
Luckily it is all bullshit and not worth worrying about. But it is fun to show this to current JW’s and watch the surprise on their faces.
